Original Medicine or traditional medicine (pre 1950, 1900) is Holistic medicine. Hippocrates, the founder of Western Medicine: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food."
Alternative Medicine is Big Pharma pills, possibly even sorcery if you use the Greek words. The Greek word for sorcery is Pharmakia.
Somehow they have switched this around today.
